Tiles Spotter is an independent, free browser-based geography game available at www.tilespotter.com. These terms describe the conditions for using it. By playing, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the game.
The game is free and will stay free. It sells nothing, contains no in-game purchases, and gives no player an advantage that can be bought. If voluntary donations are ever accepted, they will buy nothing inside the game and will change nothing about how it plays.
The game is not intended for children under 13. By playing you confirm you are at least 13 years old.
Tiles Spotter can be played as a guest, with no account at all. Guest progress is saved in your browser and is lost if you clear the site's browser data. Nobody can recover it, because it never leaves your device.
You can instead sign in with Google, which saves your progress to the server and carries it between devices. An account belongs to one person; please do not share your sign-in. Cloud save is offered for convenience, and uninterrupted availability or recovery of progress cannot be guaranteed.
To move progress between devices without an account, use Settings → Export progress and paste the code on the other device.
You can sign out or permanently delete your account at any time from Profile → the gear icon → Account & cloud save. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. For help, write to the address below.
Choose a nickname that is not abusive, impersonating, or otherwise objectionable. Nicknames are visible to the other player in a multiplayer room.
Progress is calculated in your browser, which means it can be tampered with. Doing so spoils nothing but your own game. Do not deliberately disrupt the service, interfere with other players, abuse multiplayer features, exploit security vulnerabilities, or use Tiles Spotter for unlawful activities. Automated or large-scale use of the game, or of the map services behind it, is not permitted.
Access may be restricted where reasonably necessary to protect the game, its players, or the service. An account found to be abusing the game or other players may be suspended or removed.
Tiles Spotter is provided free of charge on an "as available" basis. Features may change, be temporarily unavailable, or be discontinued. The game may be shut down at any time; if that happens, a notice will go up with enough time to export your progress.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, no guarantee is made that the service will run without errors or interruptions, that its content is accurate, or that your progress will survive, and there is no liability for loss of progress, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the game. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be limited, including mandatory consumer protections under applicable law.

The attribution shown on the maps is required by those licences and must not be removed or obscured. The game itself, its code, its artwork and its name belong to the author. You may play it and share links to it; you may not republish it as your own, resell it, or present it as your product.
Tiles Spotter relies on third-party providers for hosting, maps, optional account authentication, cloud storage and multiplayer. Those providers have their own terms and privacy notices. What personal data reaches them, and how to have yours removed, is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
These terms may be updated as the game develops. The current version and revision date appear on this page. Continuing to play after a change means accepting the new version. If a change materially reduces your rights, a notice will appear in the game.
